P/s: You wont be expecting much on new Roms cause most Rom Cookers have migrated to higher end phones... I wish i could do that but i can't cause i don't have the extra Cash.. It's only so much you can do with your Omnia, and i think it's already exhausted.

My Review - Battery usage might slightly deter cause SPB drinks quite a lot but not that much. Fully charged battery with SPB can last you up to 2.5 days if you don't mingle with it every minute. Battery is a small sacrifice for this awesome software. It made me love my phone over again. You guys should try it!

This is the Latest ROM for your Omnia. May be the last ROM. But i might be wrong. Thanks to Secany.

A few annoying bugs of the latest official DXIA5 rom have been resolved!

1. The Java engine run the applets also with sound enabled normally (the DXIA5 run the applets only muted, otherwise the app crashes);

2. The widget signaling 'new SMS / E-mail / unanswered call' now works well (with DXIA5 it works only once after every soft reset, then disappears until the next reset).

3. The vibration for incoming call has been fixed. Now it has rhythmic vibration in normal mode, not only in vibrate mode.

This is an .EXE file. Just download and install via your PC.

Speed is excellent and response is good. Looks like 2009 Rom is more about Speed and Response.

XP Machine only. Vista not applicable.

I know this is a site for Samsung Omnia but I'm posting this to help a friend in need. He has just recently obtained a Nokia E71 and wanted a Garmin Mobile XT installed on the phone. This is what i have learn so far coming from a WinMo background. The installation process is actually pretty much the same. BUT i'm not sure how the product will look like after installation. Here goes....

Requirements: Nokia E71, OR Symbian base phone.

Notes:

This Garmin Mobile XT application is designed for use on Symbian smartphone devices running S60(ie. Nokia E6x, Nokia N7x) 3rd Edition OS .
During installation, you will be prompted to turn on your Garmin GPS. Please Note: You will not gain access to Garmin Online features and/or the navigation will be unavailable without connecting your Garmin GPS.
A minimum card size of 256 MB is recommended for Garmin Mobile XT software with maps.
Please save all appropriate data before beginning the update.

Change History Changes made from version 5.00.00 to 5.00.20:

Provide support for Samsung INNOV8 (i8510).
Change default vehicle icon to blue car.
Correct an application shutdown when frequently recalculating a route.
Correct the displayed speed limit value for some specific roads.
Correct the blank green screen displayed when switching to the map page.

Installation Instructions.
These are simple steps for clean install. To be more safe, remove your memory card from phone & connect to PC or Laptop using card reader or if you using Nokia phohe & data cable (with Nokia PC Suite), just choose to Mass Transfer mode. After extracting all files in own folder, just follow these steps.

Install Garmin Mobile XT 5.00.20 in your memory card
Install Garmin Mobile XT Free Basemap in your memory card.
Install Garmin Mobile XT Support Files in your memory card.
After all installation complete, write down your IMEI number in IMEI converter & you'll get GARMIN UNIT ID, copy the unit ID to Garmin Keygen 1.5 & you'll get software unlock code.
Copy the unlock code into notepad & save as SW.UL, make sure to change the extension from .TXT to .UNL
Copy SW.UNL file to garmin folder.
Copy the map (gmapsupp.img) also in garmin folder.

A ) Check the database file im attaching and locate your city's Location Code.

B ) 1. if you cant find ur cities loc code go to http://www.accuweather.com/world-index.asp...&traveler=0
2. search your city: for example Rome

4. copy the bold ones and paste them in your loc code in WeatherPanel.

Customizing Titanium:
By customizing you could specify which program to run when the specified tab is clicked.
SK2TEXT = the name which it will be shown on the right key
SK2URL = the path where the program is located to run.

The CHome is located in registry under \HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Chome\.
For example i want to change the CClock tab to open my desirable Alarm application instead of WM default.
1. Disable Titanium.
2. You need to browse to \HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Chome\CClock and change the SK2URL to \Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Clock.lnk (if you are using Samsung alarm).
3. Enable Titanium. Thats it.

You can do the same for most of the tabs but be carefull not to mess it up .
Remark: It might not work in all tabs.

Well, I have not been updating this site that often due to the fact that they don't really have anymore new updates on Samsung Omnia. I am hoping that they don't scrap this project and leave us to rot when they find new toys to play with. I have some how rather found something that caught my eye and will like to share this with you guys.

It's a BETA Windows Mobile 6.5 ROM. They have two of each kind from different producing team and i will post the next one on another post.
This one here is SHOKKA9's WM6.5 Beta ROM. If you are interested, please feel free to update it to your phone. Remember, Update at your own risk.

Download Instructions & Installation(PLEASE READ)(From SHOKKA9)

1> Download all parts of the ROM. Extract part 1 only, it will extract the other parts.
When it has extracted the ROM, install as usual.

2> When you get the ROBOT/WM6.5 screen wait for it to reboot. When it reboots it will default to Windows default home today screen. (after configuring the Omnia - obviously!!)

3> Now HARD RESET DEVICE.....

4> Repeat step 2 then move to step 5.

5> To get your MMS & Internet settings; goto Settings, Connections, Operator; select different operator to yours (any). Wait 25 secs, then goto connection settings, operator settings and select your proper operator. Your net, MMS, SMS settings will now be active. PLEASE READ: THIS IS IMPORTANT!!!!

6> To set up the black theme, change in Settings\system\today. Also you can deselect the Windows today and use M2D by selecting in the items menu. Use Classic Blue theme.

7> To get the honeycomb menu as in the pics, disable the Large menu in Settings\system\large display

8> Install Google YouTube, download attached cab and install to device memory.

9> Soft Reset after this....or after some other tweaking

It is bundled in with IA5 firmware update. But for those who don't want to update your firmware BUT still want this game. You can download it from here. The chef that will cook the ROM is Mr. Taril. His Rom is Supposed to be faster cause he removes most of the useless stuffs without compromising the structures of the ROM. So, you will still get everything from IA5, It's just lighter cause of the Slimming from Taril.

How To Upgrade Samsung Omnia Firmware with Grandprix.

I noticed that there's a lot of people who don't really know OR unsure about using Grandprix. So, With my little knowledge on Grandprix, let me just pen down my guide for you all. I'm using XP, so i am uncertain about Vista's upgrade but i guess it should be the same. Please learn to use Grandprix as for future ROMS, they won't come as .EXE files anymore cause of the new ROM structure/format. (At least that's what i heard) Here is the Step by Step guide for upgrading your Samsung Omnia VIA Grandprix.
Of course you will need to download the Firmware and grandprix first.

Install Samsung Modem and ActiveSync on your PC.
Connect your phone and back up all your files via ActiveSync. (Main memory not the 8/16G part) E.G; Phone contacts, Documents, clips OR whatever that needs to be back up.
RUN Grandprix V.1.8.10_XP and place 4 files into their specific places (Guides Below for download) and click on the "DETECT" button.
While your phone is still connected to the PC, Soft Reset your phone by poking the small hole beside the on/off button.
Grandprix should start updating firmware once it detect your phone. IF not, just click on the "start downloading" button.
Let the updates run until it shows complete. (The phone will reboot itself after it has finish being updated, do not unplug cables yet, let Grandprix tell you when it's really completed.)
Once finish, Hard Reset your phone and presto, You have a new firmware on your phone and you are ready to go.
Switch off grandprix and connect your phone back to the PC and let it install all your DATA back to your phone VIA ActiveSync.
Install all the softwares and games back to your phone, Update your camera's firmware by keying *#2470#, Adjust your phone volume by keying in *#0002*28346# and play with your phone for a while. You can find all the hidden settings HERE.
Have a beer and chill out with your newly updated Samsung Omnia.

Estimated time it takes to update your Omnia - 20 to 45 Minutes. Depending on your Speed.
Pretty easy right. I have been upgrading my Omnia with this steps and it's working So i guess it'll be OK to share it with you all. Try it out and if you have any problems OR maybe if i have accidently left out some vital steps, please let me know by leaving me a comment. I'm going to have my beer and chill now.

Reviews;

Pretty "OK" ROM. Stable but Buggy. The only advanced thing is the new customizable Widgets which is pretty COOL but i believe Samsung can do much better then this. Oh yeah, and also Touch Player!
This ROM will only give you roughly about 15MB free memory compare to previous 40 - 50MB free memory.
GPS is back to OLD School enhanced GPS Which will take 45 - 75 seconds to connect VIA xtra or NO xtra, It's still the same. So, this SUCKS! "HK" versions have improved their GPS but "HL" has brought it back down. Some know bugs have been seen wandering around the ROM which requires you to soft reset phone if it "HANGS" on you. Data connections connects randomly maybe due to your new online widgets that is looking for updates.

Not a KEEPER but a stable "HL" ROM for those who wants to try our the new "CUSTOMIZABLE WIDGETS". Still, it's better then HL1
Am waiting for HL3 to arrive.

Comment: Everybody likes to go handsfree in many different aspects when using mobile devices such as calling a friend with the touch of a button or launching a program just by saying "Launch File Explorer." Microsoft (a very rare good Microsoft production) Voice Command has put all this into ease and does it extremely well at the same time. It gives you some irresistable options such as calling out who's calling you or even reading your text messages completely. This can be extremely usefull especially when driving when you really have to put all your attention on the road rather than your device. This programs is even put to better use with the addition of a bluetooth headset making it easy to call John or dialing 5352563 just by simply saying "Call John" or "Dial 5352563." It can act retarded at times by not catching on what you say the first few times and it usually does this when you're in a noisy environment or in the presence of wind. Other than that, the handsfree features it provides are just phenomenal and this should be present on every single Windows Mobile device.

Here's a quick, handy little application i've rustled up as i'm off abroad for a few days soon, and don't want to run up a huge GPRS bill.

It lists your GPRS connections, and allows you to disable them so that they won't be used.

Disable your connections before you leave, re-enable them when you return - piece of cake with MoDaCo NoData

Note that if you get bizarre registry errors on toggling, you need to app unlock your device (e.g. with SDA Application Unlocker).

My GPS connects so fast that sometimes it scares the s**t out of me... hahaha...Am loving HK2... I can even connect to my GPS while i am indoors 30 feet from my nearest window/door.
Sensitivity is OK.
Touch player is OK.
Memory is OK.

But what i really need is a software for weather updates and The camera is really crappy for a 5MP. I tried Sony Ericssons 3.2MP cybershot and it's very very good. Is Samsung going to do anything about this?

I will stick with this Rom for a while.
